Preparation for sacred intimacy
"And YHVH said to Mosheh, 'Go to the people and set them apart today and tomorrow, and they shall wash their garments, and shall be prepared by the third day.'"
- Shemoth (Exodus) 19:10 - 11
"Do not come near a woman, so that you may be ready for the third day."
- Shemoth (Exodus) 19:15
"Blessed are the clean in heart, because they shall see Elohim."
- Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:8
"For Elohim did not call us to uncleanness, but in set-apartness."
- Tas'loniqim Aleph (1 Thessalonians) 4:7
Preparation is essential when approaching what is set-apart. YHVH instructed His people to prepare themselves before encountering His presence, emphasizing physical and spiritual readiness. Sacred intimacy requires reverence, discipline, and intentional separation from what is unclean.
This preparation is not only outward but begins within the heart. Purity of thought, intention, and conduct forms the foundation for a deeper relationship with YHVH. Without preparation, intimacy loses its meaning and becomes common rather than set-apart.
Maintaining readiness honours the holiness of the relationship and reflects respect for the One who calls His people near.
Moments of closeness with YHVH are not accidental - they are cultivated through preparation and intentional living. Set-apartness creates space for deeper connection and clearer understanding.
Consider what areas of life require preparation. Reflect on how daily discipline, purity, and intentional choices shape your readiness to draw near. When the heart is prepared, intimacy with YHVH becomes natural and meaningful.
True closeness is built through reverence and consistent preparation.
Twenty-seven days have been counted. The journey continues as preparation deepens and awareness becomes more refined. Each day calls for greater readiness and intentionality.
As discipline grows, the heart becomes more attuned to what is set-apart. Preparation is no longer occasional, but becomes part of daily living.
YHVH, Elohim of holiness, teach us to prepare ourselves to draw near to You. Cleanse our hearts and guide our thoughts, so that we may walk in purity and reverence. Help us to set ourselves apart from what is unclean and to live with intention and discipline. Draw us closer to You and establish in us a desire for true and sacred intimacy.
Baruch YHVH.
Shalom until tomorrow.
