Justice - Honoring What Is Entrusted
“You shall not pervert the justice due to the stranger or the fatherless, nor take a widow's garment as a pledge.”

“In every matter of transgression, whether it concerns an ox, a donkey, a sheep, clothing, or any lost thing which another claims to be his, the matter of both parties shall come before the judges...”

YHVH calls His people to honour whatever has been entrusted to them, whether it is property, responsibility, influence or the care of another person. His Torah teaches that justice is demonstrated not only in major decisions but also in the faithful handling of everyday matters. Trustworthiness preserves peace, protects relationships and reflects the character of Elohim.
This mitzvah reminds us that everything ultimately belongs to YHVH. We are stewards of the gifts, possessions and responsibilities He places in our hands, and He calls us to exercise integrity, fairness and accountability in every circumstance.
A trustworthy person values faithfulness above personal gain. Whether we are entrusted with possessions, opportunities, responsibilities or the confidence of others, YHVH desires that we handle them with honesty and care.
May we be known as faithful stewards who respect what belongs to others and who use every blessing entrusted to us for the honour of YHVH. In doing so, we become living testimonies of His righteousness and goodness.
Heavenly Father, YHVH, thank You for every responsibility and blessing You have entrusted to us. Teach us to be faithful stewards who act with honesty, integrity and compassion in every situation. Guard us from selfishness and carelessness, and strengthen us to honour both You and our neighbour through the way we handle every trust placed in our hands. May our lives reflect Your righteousness and bring glory to Your holy Name.
