Justice – protecting the people
“Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy.”

“Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are perishing.”

YHVH establishes justice not merely to preserve order, but to protect people from oppression, corruption, abuse, and exploitation. Throughout Scripture, special attention is given to the vulnerable, the poor, the stranger, the widow, and the fatherless. Righteous judgment acts as protection for those who cannot defend themselves.
Leadership and authority carry the responsibility of safeguarding truth, fairness, and human dignity. When justice becomes corrupted, innocent people suffer. The people of YHVH are therefore called to uphold righteousness, defend what is right, and refuse participation in injustice or oppression.
In many societies, those with influence, wealth, or power often receive greater protection and attention than the weak or overlooked. Yet the justice of YHVH measures righteousness by truth and integrity rather than status or social position.
Consider whether your own actions, words, and decisions contribute to protection, fairness, and compassion toward others. Sometimes justice is demonstrated through large public actions, but often it begins with smaller acts of honesty, kindness, courage, and integrity within ordinary daily life.
The protection of people begins when individuals choose to walk in righteousness even when compromise would be easier.
Abba YHVH, thank You for being a righteous Judge who defends the weak, the vulnerable, and the oppressed. Teach us to walk in justice, integrity, courage, and compassion. Help leaders and authorities to govern with righteousness and to protect those entrusted to their care. Guard our hearts from selfishness, corruption, indifference, and compromise. Let our lives reflect Your truth and become a source of protection, peace, and encouragement to others.
