Shalom, Mitspacha!
As part of our continued restoration of the Scriptural rhythm, the weekly DOM Prayer Day will now be observed on Shabbat, the day of the holy convocation, rather than on Erev Shabbat (Preparation Day).
Erev Shabbat will remain a day of preparation as we ready our hearts, our homes, and ourselves to enter YHVH's appointed day of rest. We look forward to joining together in extended prayer during tomorrow's Shabbat message.
Prohibition of rebelling against lawful courts
“You shall do according to the sentence which they declare to you from that place which YHVH chooses. And you shall be careful to do according to all that they order you.”

“The man who acts presumptuously and will not heed the priest who stands to minister there before YHVH your Elohim, or the judge, that man shall die. So you shall put away the evil from Yisrael.”

YHVH is the Elohim of order, not confusion. He established righteous authority within Yisrael so that justice could be administered consistently according to His Torah. The prohibition against rebelling against lawful courts was never intended to elevate human authority above YHVH, but to preserve unity, stability, and justice among His people when judgments were rendered according to His instruction.
Submission to righteous judgment requires humility. It calls us to lay aside pride, personal preference, and stubbornness when a matter has been carefully considered according to the Word of Elohim. At the same time, all human authority remains accountable to YHVH and must never depart from His Torah. True obedience is always first directed toward Him.
We live in a world where authority is often either abused or rejected altogether. Scripture calls us to a different path: to respect lawful authority that faithfully upholds the instructions of YHVH while remaining steadfast in our ultimate allegiance to Him.
Consider whether humility characterises your response when correction is given or when disagreements arise. A teachable spirit strengthens the community and promotes peace, while pride and rebellion easily lead to division.
As we prepare our hearts on this Preparation Day, may we also prepare them to receive instruction with humility, wisdom, and reverence for YHVH.
Abba YHVH, thank You for establishing righteousness, order, and justice among Your people. Give us humble hearts that willingly receive wise correction and honour decisions that are faithful to Your Torah. Guard us from pride, stubbornness, and unnecessary division. As we prepare to enter Your Shabbat, may our hearts remain teachable, our motives pure, and our desire always be to walk faithfully before You.
