YHVH commands that testimony be examined carefully before judgment is rendered, requiring diligence, discernment and commitment to truth rather than assumptions or appearances.
Justice does not end with hearing testimony; it requires careful verification. YHVH instructed Israel's judges to investigate diligently before reaching a verdict, recognising that false testimony can destroy lives and corrupt justice. His standard calls for patient examination rather than quick conclusions.
This principle remains essential for every believer. We live in a world where information spreads instantly and opinions often form long before facts are established. Torah teaches us to pause, examine evidence and seek truth with humility before accepting or repeating any report.
Messiah reinforced this principle when He warned against judging by outward appearance. Righteous judgment requires wisdom, fairness and dependence upon YHVH rather than emotion or prejudice. Likewise, the apostles encouraged believers to test everything carefully, holding firmly only to what proves true.
As servants of YHVH, may we become known as people who value truth above convenience, who investigate before speaking and who protect both justice and mercy through faithful discernment.
Heavenly Father, YHVH, thank You for teaching us to pursue truth with diligence and integrity. Guard us from careless judgments, false assumptions and the temptation to accept appearances without careful examination. Fill us with wisdom to discern rightly, patience to seek the facts and humility to submit every conclusion to Your truth. May our words, decisions and testimony always honour You and reflect Your perfect justice.
