πŸ“˜ READING

β€œBut I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.”
- Matthew 12:36

β€œDeath and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

🟫 MITZVOT FOCUS

YHVH calls His people to use their speech with wisdom and reverence. Words are not insignificant; they have the power to encourage, heal, instruct, divide, or destroy. Torah repeatedly warns against false witness, slander, gossip, and careless speech because our words reveal the condition of our hearts.

Messiah taught that every spoken word carries accountability before Elohim. This does not mean we live in fear, but that we speak with awareness that our tongues are instruments either of righteousness or of harm. A faithful servant seeks to ensure that speech aligns with truth, mercy, and holiness.

🩡 REFLECTION

Before speaking, it is wise to ask whether our words are true, necessary, and beneficial. A moment of restraint can prevent much sorrow, while a timely word of encouragement can strengthen another person for years to come.

The discipline of guarding our speech is part of walking in obedience. When our hearts are filled with the wisdom of YHVH, our words increasingly become a source of life, peace, and blessing to those around us.

πŸ‘ PRAYER

Heavenly Father, YHVH, teach us to guard our tongues and to speak words that honour You. Help us to avoid careless, harmful, or dishonest speech, and fill our hearts with wisdom, humility, and compassion. May our conversations bring truth, encouragement, and peace to others. Let our words reflect the character of Messiah and become instruments of blessing in every place You send us.

Baruch YHVH. Emet.

Shalom until tomorrow.
