✨ MESSAGE

Forgiveness and Restraint

Forgiveness requires strength. It calls us to restrain the impulse to respond with anger, retaliation, or harsh words. The Torah and the wisdom writings teach that the person who governs their spirit shows greater power than one who conquers cities.

Restraint does not mean ignoring wrongdoing, but it means choosing a path that does not multiply conflict. Forgiveness releases the burden of offense and allows the heart to remain aligned with the righteousness of YHVH.

Pursuit of Peace Among People

Peace rarely appears by accident; it must be actively pursued. The Psalmist commands us not only to seek peace but to chase after it with intention and determination.

As the people of YHVH, we are called to become instruments of peace — calming disputes, refusing to spread division, and speaking words that restore rather than wound. In doing so we reflect the character of the One who brings peace to His people.

📖 REFLECTION

Forgiveness and peace are deeply connected. When resentment is released, peace has room to grow. As we approach Shabbat, it is wise to examine our hearts and relationships.

Entering Shabbat with a peaceful heart honors YHVH and prepares us to receive His rest.

🙌 PRAYER

Abba YHVH, as we approach Your Shabbat, prepare our hearts to enter Your rest with humility, forgiveness, and peace. Remove from us bitterness, anger, and division, and teach us to pursue reconciliation and unity wherever possible.

We pray for peace in the Middle East, South Africa, and the world. May leaders and nations turn away from violence and seek justice, wisdom, and reconciliation.

We pray for an end-time revival. Pour out Your Spirit across the nations so that many hearts will return to Your truth and walk in righteousness.

We pray for the elderly, especially those subject to abuse and neglect. Protect them, strengthen them, and raise up compassionate people who will care for them with dignity and love.

We pray for the farmers, especially those in danger of attacks. Guard them and their families, protect their land and livelihoods, and surround them with Your peace.

We pray for people living in disaster-stricken areas, especially in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Provide relief, restoration, and strength to rebuild their lives and communities.

We pray for evangelists all over the world, especially in those countries where they are persecuted. Give them courage, protection, and wisdom as they proclaim the truth.

We pray for ill people, especially those with cancer and new viral diseases that are spreading rapidly. Bring healing, comfort, and strength to them and to those caring for them.

We pray regarding the coming tribulation as the signs of the birth pains are already visible. Prepare Your people spiritually, strengthen our faith, and guide us to remain steadfast in Your truth.

We pray for our ministry, Derech Olam Ministries. Guide our work, strengthen our mission, and allow this ministry to bring light, truth, and encouragement to many.

Baruch YHVH.
