Today we focus on the requirement for absolute truth in every commercial transaction. Beyond just physical weights, this mitzvah demands that the representation of quality, quantity, and value be entirely truthful.
To deceive a buyer or a seller is not merely a "business tactic" - it is an abomination to Elohim.
Truth in commerce is the ultimate test of our faith in the public square. It is easy to be "holy" while at prayer, but our true character is revealed in how we handle silver, gold, and trade. When we refuse to use "false balances" - whether through hidden fees, misleading descriptions, or unfair pricing - we testify that YHVH is the Master of our sustenance.
Integrity in our work is a form of worship that the world can clearly see.
Abba YHVH, we ask for the strength to be men and women of truth in all our dealings today. Guard our hearts from the temptation of dishonest gain and let our reputation in the marketplace be one of unwavering integrity. May our work and our trade bring delight to You and honor to Your Name.
