Shalom, Mishpacha!
Justice – honest dealings / Covenant and law
Avinu Malkeinu, thank You for bringing us into this set-apart Shabbat. Teach us to walk faithfully in Your covenant and to uphold truth and justice in all our dealings. Purify our hearts, establish integrity within us, and help us to reflect Your righteousness before all people.
As we enter this Shabbat, let us remember the covenant faithfulness of YHVH. Through Yahusha HaMashiach we are reminded to walk in obedience, sincerity, and truth. Let the bread and the cup remind us that covenant relationship requires faithful hearts and righteous living.
"YHVH detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with Him."
- Mishlei (Proverbs) 11:1
"Who may dwell on Your set-apart hill? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart."
- Tehillim (Psalms) 15:1-2
"Everything YHVH has spoken we will do."
- Shemot (Exodus) 19:8
"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."
- Yaakov (James) 1:22
"A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness pours out lies."
- Mishlei (Proverbs) 14:5
Justice before YHVH requires honesty in speech, conduct, judgment, and relationships. Dishonest gain, manipulation, and false representation corrupt both the individual and the community. YHVH calls His people to reflect His righteousness through integrity and truthfulness in every matter.
Honest dealings are part of covenant living. They establish trust, preserve peace, and protect the vulnerable from exploitation and corruption.
At Sinai, YHVH established His covenant with His people and revealed His righteous instruction. The covenant was not built merely upon hearing, but upon obedience. His Torah was given to establish holiness, justice, order, and faithfulness among His people.
Shabbat reminds us that covenant life is active. It is lived daily through obedience, reverence, and faithful alignment with the instruction of YHVH.
Today is Day 36 of the Omer. As we continue this journey of refinement, we are reminded that covenant faithfulness is strengthened through honesty, obedience, and reverence before YHVH.
Each day drawing us deeper into integrity, discipline, and alignment with His ways.
As Pesach Sheni approaches, let those who were unable to keep Pesach one month ago prepare themselves prayerfully and practically for this appointed remembrance.
Where applicable within your household and observance, preparations should also be made for a lamb in remembrance of the Pesach instruction. Pick a lamb at the end of Shabbat suitable for offering on Pesach Sheni.
Let this preparation be approached with sincerity, reflection, and gratitude before YHVH. And, if you have observed Pesach this year, remember your brothers and sisters who have not by praying for them.
Examine your words, your actions, and your commitments. Are they aligned with the covenant standards of YHVH?
This Shabbat is an invitation to renew integrity before Elohim and others - to reject compromise and to walk faithfully in truth and obedience.
Avinu Malkeinu, thank You for Your covenant and for the gift of Your instruction. Teach us to walk honestly before You in every area of life. Strengthen us to uphold justice, reject deception, and reflect Your righteousness in our homes and assemblies. As we prepare for Pesach Sheni, establish within us hearts that are obedient, humble, and fully devoted to You.
Baruch YHVH.
Shalom until tomorrow!
