Shalom, Mishpacha!
Equality before judgment
"You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not be partial to the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty. In righteousness you shall judge your neighbor."
- Vayikra (Leviticus) 19:15
"You shall have one law for the stranger and for one from your own country; for I am YHVH your Elohim."
- Vayikra (Leviticus) 24:22
"You shall not pervert justice due to your poor in his dispute."
- Shemot (Exodus) 23:6
"For there is no partiality with Elohim."
- Romans 2:11
YHVH establishes justice upon righteousness, truth, and equality before judgment. Neither wealth, status, influence, poverty, ethnicity, nor position should distort fair judgment or faithful application of truth.
Covenant life requires consistency, integrity, and impartiality so that justice reflects the character of YHVH rather than human preference or bias.
Do you apply different standards to different people based on appearance, influence, familiarity, status, or personal preference?
Today reminds us that righteous judgment requires fairness and consistency. We are called to uphold truth equally, showing neither favoritism nor prejudice in our relationships, decisions, responsibilities, or leadership.
Today is Day 47 of the Omer - correction of count due to typing error yesterday. As the counting draws closer to completion, we are reminded that spiritual maturity requires continual refinement in justice, humility, discipline, and covenant faithfulness.
Each day of the Omer prepares us to stand more fully aligned with the righteousness, holiness, and truth of YHVH.
Avinu Malkeinu, teach us to judge rightly without favoritism, prejudice, or unequal standards. Purify our hearts from bias, pride, and partiality. Establish within us integrity, humility, wisdom, and faithfulness so that our judgments, actions, and relationships may reflect Your righteousness and truth in all things.
Baruch YHVH.
Shalom until tomorrow.
