Upholding truth in court
“You do not bring a false report. Do not put your hand with the wrong to be an unrighteous witness.”

YHVH commands His people to uphold truth and integrity in every form of testimony, judgment, and witness. False reports, dishonest testimony, slander, exaggeration, and manipulated narratives corrupt justice and destroy trust within society. Truth in judgment requires honesty, restraint, discernment, and reverence for righteousness. Whether in formal courts, assemblies, leadership, family disputes, or daily conversations, the people of YHVH are called to speak truthfully and refuse participation in falsehood.
An unrighteous witness harms both the innocent and the integrity of justice itself.
Words carry power. A single false statement can damage reputations, relationships, livelihoods, and entire communities. Scripture repeatedly warns against careless speech, dishonest testimony, and joining with others to spread distortion or deception. In every generation there is pressure to support narratives without carefully examining truth. Yet righteousness requires moral courage — the willingness to stand apart from falsehood even when silence, compromise, or agreement would seem easier.
Consider whether your words consistently reflect truth, fairness, and integrity. A heart that fears YHVH seeks accuracy, wisdom, and honesty rather than emotional reaction, gossip, or personal advantage.
Abba YHVH, establish truth and integrity within our hearts. Guard our mouths from falsehood, exaggeration, slander, and dishonest speech. Teach us to walk with wisdom, restraint, and righteousness in every word we speak and every judgment we make. Strengthen us to uphold truth even when pressure, fear, or public opinion push toward compromise. Let our lives reflect honesty, justice, and faithfulness before You and before others.
