Guarding Trust and Loyalty / Preservation Among Nations - Esther
Heavenly Father, YHVH, thank You for bringing us safely into Your holy Shabbat. We lay aside the burdens of the past week and enter Your appointed rest with grateful hearts. Open our minds to receive Your instruction, strengthen our faith through Your Word and renew our desire to walk faithfully in Your covenant. May this Shabbat draw us closer to You and to one another as we worship You in spirit and in truth.
Baruch YHVH. Emet.
As we partake of the bread, we remember Yahusha HaMashiach, the Bread of Life, whose body was given for us.
As we drink from the cup, we remember the renewed covenant established through His blood, giving thanks for the forgiveness, reconciliation and hope we have through Him.
May this communion strengthen our commitment to walk faithfully in obedience to YHVH's Torah and to live as ambassadors of His Kingdom until Messiah returns.

Trust and loyalty are essential to the stability of any community. When trust is deliberately broken through deception, betrayal or false testimony, the damage extends beyond the immediate individuals involved and can affect families, communities and even nations.
The Torah therefore commands YHVH's people to reject falsehood, deception and betrayal. Truthfulness is not merely a desirable personal quality. It is part of righteous covenant living.
The story of Esther demonstrates how trust and loyalty can become matters of life and death. Haman used deception and manipulation to turn the authority of the Persian kingdom against the Yihudim. The danger was not simply that one individual had acted maliciously, but that an entire people faced destruction because falsehood had been placed within the structures of government.
Mordekai and Esther responded differently. Mordekai remained faithful to his people, while Esther accepted the responsibility of approaching the king despite the danger involved. Their loyalty was not passive. It required courage, wisdom and action.
The history of preservation of the Yihudim in the book of Esther also reminds us that YHVH can preserve His people even when they are scattered among the nations. The book does not need to repeatedly name YHVH for His providence to be evident throughout the events. Human decisions, political circumstances and seemingly ordinary events are woven together toward the preservation of His people.
Trust must therefore be guarded carefully. We should not give ourselves blindly to every person or every claim, but neither should we become people who live by suspicion and betrayal. Righteous discernment allows us to test what we hear while remaining committed to truth.
Guarding trust begins with our own conduct. We must speak truthfully, keep our commitments and refuse to manipulate information for personal advantage. When we have been entrusted with another person's confidence, we should treat that responsibility seriously.
Loyalty also requires wisdom. Scripture does not command us to support wrongdoing simply because of personal relationships. True loyalty is compatible with truth and justice. Protecting a person from the consequences of their wrongdoing is not the same as protecting them from harm.
The example of Esther shows that loyalty sometimes requires courageous action. There are moments when remaining silent allows injustice to continue. Esther had to decide whether she would use her position to seek the preservation of her people, knowing that approaching the king could cost her life.
For families and communities, trust is strengthened when people know that their words are reliable and their actions are consistent. Children learn loyalty by observing whether adults keep promises, tell the truth and act responsibly when circumstances become difficult.
As we enter Shabbat, let us examine where trust has been placed in our own lives. May we be people who can be trusted because our words and actions are governed by righteousness. May we also have the wisdom to recognise deception and the courage to act when others are threatened by injustice.
Heavenly Father, YHVH, thank You for Your faithfulness and for the preservation of Your people throughout the generations. Teach us to guard trust, speak truth and remain loyal to what is righteous.
We pray that You strengthen families to build relationships founded upon honesty, faithfulness, respect and responsible conduct. Protect marriages from betrayal and households from deception, manipulation and division.
We pray that You give parents wisdom to teach their children the value of truth and loyalty. Help children to grow in discernment, integrity and respect for the responsibilities entrusted to them.
We pray that You protect Your people among the nations. Give wisdom to those who hold positions of authority, and restrain those who seek to use power for oppression, deception or destruction.
We pray that You strengthen those who must make difficult decisions for the protection of others. Give them the courage of Esther, the loyalty of Mordekai and the wisdom to act at the right time.
We pray for peace in the Middle East and for the protection of innocent people affected by war and violence. Strengthen and comfort the elderly, protect farmers and those whose livelihoods depend upon the land, and watch over people facing war, disaster and displacement.
We pray that You strengthen and protect evangelists, teachers and missionaries who faithfully proclaim Your Word. Give them wisdom, protection and endurance.
We pray that You bring healing and comfort to those who are ill, suffering or afraid. Prepare Your people for the coming tribulation and teach us to remain faithful under pressure.
We pray that You bless and strengthen Derech Olam Mishkan International. Help us to serve faithfully, preserve truth, encourage Your people and remain steadfast in Your covenant.
May our lives reflect Your faithfulness, our words uphold truth and our actions contribute to the preservation and strengthening of those entrusted to our care.
